Rzone is a proactive strategy to promote respectful and responsible behaviour in our recreational facilities. Rzone signifies Respect and Responsibility: respect for yourself, respect for others, and responsibility for your actions.

The goal of Rzone is to promote a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for all our users.

Rzone enforces a zero tolerance policy towards violence, vandalism, and inappropriate behaviour from participants and the public. Bullying, belligerence, racism, discrimination, mistreatment, harassment, vandalism, and violence of any kind are prohibited.

Rzone applies to everyone—coaches, parents, players, spectators, and visitors.

Anyone who witnesses or suspects an incident is asked to inform the city facility staff as soon as possible or complete an Incident Report on the CYO website.

For more information on Rzone, please visit the City of St Catharines’ website.

Diversity and Inclusion Statement

St Catharines CYO Minor Hockey Association believes that hockey, and all sports, must be inclusive, accessible, safe, affordable, and welcoming to all individuals regardless of race, ancestry, place of origin, ethnic origin, citizenship, colour, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital/family status, or disability.

The value of sport—especially team sport—is undeniable. Hockey not only provides mental, physical, and social benefits, it also has the power to unite and inspire players and volunteers at every level.

CYO will continue to encourage and support participation in the sport of hockey, and ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion are key considerations in our strategies, plans, actions, and operations.
