- Alliance Hockey Coach 1 - Intro to Coach - ONLINE COURSE, $75. You need to complete the prerequisite first.

Coaches and Bench Staff Registration
All coaches and bench staff (managers, trainers) and on-ice helpers must also register through the CYO website in order to sign off on various waivers and for us to verify your qualifications and certifications, and vulnerable police check.

You should have a Spordle Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) account already when you registered your child. Please log into that account to register yourself as a coach or bench staff. If you area a coach and a trainer, sign-up for the one you are going to be listed on the team roster as. You only need to register once.
Other Policies
All certifications must be completed before November 1st (or booked by November 1st with the date of completion shared with the Director of Risk) to be allowed to remain in the capacity of Team Official. Those without complete certifications will be removed from the bench.
Minimum age requirements for Coaches and Trainers
CYO welcomes any of our U18 players who would like to help out as coaches or trainers in the younger divisions. The minimum age for certification is 16. Players must be 2 years older than the team with which they are the coach or trainer. Players will need to be be an assistant coach or assistant trainer for one year before being allowed to take full responsibility for the team.
All on-ice helpers must be a registered player with Hockey Canada (current season) and, if under the age of 17, must have the full face shield with chinstrap always done up.
Players are not allowed on the ice (practice or game) until the Zamboni doors are closed AND there is a minimum of either 1 certified bench person (coach, trainer, or manager) on the bench/ice, or the referees are present and on the ice.
