Join us for CYO's 90th Season Celebration
January 5-7, 2024 at Merritton Arena
CYO Minor Hockey is turning 90, and we invite all our CYO families, friends, alumni, and supporters to join us in celebrating our 90 years of youth hockey programming and development in St Catharines and Niagara.
To all our currently registered players, we have many fun events set up over the weekend. Some do require registration, so be sure and check out the list below, and then click the link to sign up for the additional ones you are interested in. Family, friends, spectators, and supporters please join us to cheer on the teams!
Along with all our scheduled events for our players and coaches listed below, will also have some fantastic historical displays, special guests, an amazing penny raffle and silent auction, and much more!
Saturday January 6th, 2024
9am to 10am: U6 FUNdamentals

10am to 11am: U7 Jamboree
|
11am to 1pm: U9 Mini-Tournament

| U6 Division players fun jamboree mini-games for your regular ice hour; no sign up required. |
Half-ice mini-games with coaches on each half to assist with keeping the game flowing. Players will change from their respective bench door on a 2 minute buzzer. All 4 teams will be on the ice at the same time.
Game 1: Red vs Yellow on one half,
White vs Grey on the other half.
(water break then switch teams)
Game 2: Red vs White on one half,
Yellow vs Grey on the other half. |
Mini-tournament round robin for all 4 CYO teams in the U9 division. No registration required, teams are all entered. Games will be full ice, 5 on 5, with officials. Each mini-game will be approximately 12-15 minutes.

9am to Noon: Player and Coach Pancake Breakfast

1pm to 3pm: OPEN SKATE
|
To thank our friends and supporters in the community, we will be holding a "public skating style" hour, open to all ages. Helmets are required for children 12 and under.
|
Between 3pm and 8pm: Mini Tournament/Games for U11, U13, U15, U18
|
Mini-Tournament for our U11 to U18 players. Games will be mixed age, and played buzzer style, so each age group will be lined up against their own age. It is an incredibly fun showcase for all our age groups to meet each other and have some fun on the ice. "Medal Rounds" will be held on Sunday.
3pm = U11 & U13 Mixed Game
3:45 = U15 & U18 Mixed Game
4:30 = U13 & U18 Mixed Game
5:15 = U11 & U15 Mixed Game
6pm = U13 & U15 Mixed Game

Exhibition game featuring players from CYO's Jr IceDogs Special Needs program.
In 1999, CYO launched its special needs program for players with physical or intellectual disabilities to provide and teach the game of hockey. The program has close ties with international special needs hockey organizations and helps players to achieve their goals. CYO's program, the Jr. IceDogs, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this coming season, and runs in partnership with CYO and the OHL Niagara IceDogs.
Game will be followed by a medal presentation to all the participants.
