Kings March to Final
St. Denis Tyke Tim Horton's Kings made the final of the Kevin Fegan Tournament.

A short-handed Tyke Kings team, with a couple players battling illness pushed themselves and their opponents to the limit in the Kevin Fegan Memorial Tournament during the March Break.

With just 9 skaters in each of the round robin games, the team was able to battle to a 1 - 1 - 1 record.  The Kings had a rematch against Hamilton Wild in their Semi-final, whom they tied 6 - 6 on Monday.  The team came out very strong, and ready to play and jumped out an early 2-0 lead.  The team played an excellent game and were prefect defensively, winning 2-0, setting up yet another rematch with the St. Julia's Eagles.

In the final, both teams were on the offensive.  The Kings goalie kept the Eagles off the scoreboard early, giving the Kings an early lead.  Both teams battled back and forth, matching each other's goals. Mid-game the team became short-handed as our sick players both left the bench as they gave all they could have to their teammates.  However, the Kings wouldn't give up, and despite being down 2 or 3 goals, they fought their way to only trail by a goal.  In the last shift, with the goalie pulled, the team had a couple chances to score, but couldn't find the back of the net, and had to settle for a 2nd place trophy.

The coaching staff and parents are very proud of our Tyke Kings, and their efforts during the tournament!

A special thanks to our Tyke friends, Thys R. & Nicholas B. who helped out the Kings in the tournament and played excellent!
